what are my chances?
I am not a scientist, but I strongly believe that I am on the way to a great scientific discovery. I want to make it public, but I want internationally recognized priority. In order to be understood, from this point of view, even by those who do not know what I mean, I have selected some ideas of a famous scientist, Hans Selye. Besides his scientific work, he wrote a kind of handbook for young researchers
The selection is available only in Romanian. The English language reader should read the first 3 chapters from the original work: “From Dream to Discovery”.)
According to Selye’s ideas, scientists are conceited. Most of them aren’t looking for anonymity, but for being acknowledged to have discovered an important law of nature. This is related to pride and ingenious. Why should we be embarrassed to admit it?"
If well-known researchers admit these things, I think that my desire to get acknowledged priority is excusable.
In order to make the difference between seeing and discovering, Hans Selye , relates the case of insulin, as presented by Sir Frederick Banting
The Nobel Board, in 1969, acknowledged Nicolae Paulescu’s priority in finding the anti-diabetes treatment, but, according to the status, the Board excluded the possibility of official reparation. At the 50th anniversary of insulin discovering, the officials acknowledged unanimously the priority of the Romanian scientist.(www.mariromani.ro)
Fighting for priority is difficult, even among people with diplomas and within this specific domain, so my desire to get international priority is not naive.
